Development of a pesticide container management system and capacity building for environmentally acceptable management of plastic waste contaminated with pesticides

The project was implemented by the Kemeko BH/Dekonta Consortium from May 2021 to May 2024.

The goal of the project is to enhance the pesticide packaging management system, promote sustainable practices, and ensure the effective implementation of the container management system in Bosnia and
Herzegovina. Several key activities were implemented in the project. We developed and organized a training program for trainers on the waste container management system, as well as a specific training program for farmers to ensure their effective participation in the system.

Additionally, we conducted a feasibility study for the introduction of the waste container management system in Bosnia and Herzegovina and created a comprehensive strategy for the collection, transport, and disposal of these containers. Furthermore, we provided technical inputs to the marketing agency to support the project’s promotional efforts.
