The project was carried out for the EBRD, as part of the development of documentation for the Bank’s environmental and social policy.
The project was carried out in the period December 2020 – April 2021.
Given that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a signatory to the Stockholm Convention, the purpose of this project was identification of electrical equipment owned by the client, which may contain PCBs, the generation and analysis of oil from such devices, and the determination of safe ways of disposal of equipment containing POPs/PCBs. As part of the assignment, equipment currently in use as well as stocks are assessed. Tasks included identifying existing restrictions on the safe destruction of equipment containing POPs within the country and identifying reasonable, cost-effective alternatives for safe disposal abroad.
